The story so far

In school I hated sport. Although I was part of the majority of the school teams, I enjoyed very few. I would far rather spend my time finding excuses as to why I couldn’t participate.

After school I went to college and studied IT, discovered an unhealthy love of food, alcohol and smoking. The weight started to pile on.

Two years later and the start of my working life found me firmly planted behind a desk and my idea of sport was playing FIFA on the PlayStation!

In 2004 I weighed the other side of 21 stone and received a stark health warning from the doctor. I decided enough was enough and a life of gluttony was no longer for me. Time to change.

Fast forward 3 years to 2007 and weighing 9 stone lighter I took part in my first ever 5km race. It was brutal!  I continued running for a number of years completing multiple running events from 5 km to Marathon distance (and beyond!).

In 2011 I discovered triathlon and took part in my first Super Sprint distance race at Eton Dorney.  Since then I haven’t looked back!

I have competed in numerous Triathlons over my five seasons ranging from sprint distance all the way up to half Iron distance. It became clear early on that I had the capability to become a decent age grouper ,and with focus and dedication to training I pushed to reach this goal.

I am now a proud member of the GB Age group triathlon squad and more recently the GB Age group Duathlon Squad.

I am very proud to say that I pulled on my countries colours for the first time at the 2014 Kitzbuhel ETU triathlon European championships and more recently at the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Chicago.

I took a break from international duties in 2016 to undertake my coaching qualifications but still competed in a number of triathlons and other events.
